Visualize Studio: Stained Glass Workshop (Copy)
Learn how to create your very own stained glass project in our 2 hour mobile Stained Glass Workshop at Calamity's Coffee! The participant begins with a pre-cut and ground kit of stained glass and learns how to copper foil and solder. There will be several kits and many colors to choose from to create your own masterpiece!

This Intro 2hr stained glass class is for those who want to learn the very basics of stained glass. You will be guided to learn how to copper foil and solder a small pre-cut project. Everyone leaves with their very own completed piece! All skill levels welcome & all materials provided- no experience needed!
NOTE: Please wear cotton clothing and close-toed shoes with long hair pulled back. Must be 14yr or older for this class (anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). This activity requires good close vision and hand dexterity.

Conversational ASL
Whether you're brand new to ASL (American Sign Language) or looking for people to practice full conversations with, this welcoming class is open to everyone! Instructor Amy Cone, an experienced ASL interpreter across a variety of fields, brings deep passion and knowledge to each session. She is sometimes accompanied by her husband, Daniel, who is Deaf and adds both personal insight and a wonderful sense of humor to every class. Together, they tailor each session to the needs and skill levels of the participants, making it a great fit for beginners and experienced learners alike.

A Life's End Open Dialogue is a welcoming, respectful gathering where people come together to talk openly about death, dying, grief, and the meaning of life. Inspired by the global Death Café movement, this is not a support group, therapy session, or lecture. Instead, it is an informal conversation where everyone is invited to share experiences, ask questions, listen, and reflect in a judgment-free environment.
Whether you've experienced loss, work in end-of-life care, are curious about advance planning, or simply want to explore a topic that is often avoided, you are welcome. There is no agenda, no expectation to speak, and no right or wrong perspective.
Our goal is to normalize conversations about mortality, reduce fear through open discussion, and encourage deeper appreciation for the lives we are living today.
Come as you are, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, and join us for meaningful conversation in a safe, compassionate space.

The last Friday of the month is your opportunity to create, build, craft, tinker, invent, or learn new skills. Bring materials with you and surround yourself with other folks who love making things in a supportive environment.

Yep, it’s second only to water and we will go over many of those reasons in this class featuring the plant that provides us with so many types of beverages.
Did you know that all types of tea come from this one plant?
That's right, Black, Green, White tea and every flavor profile under all those headings come from Camellia. Join The Empirical Herbalist, Ruth Shelton in this introductory class. We’ll cover a bit of history, science, preparations, flavor profiles and medicinal attributes. This is the perfect class for all levels of tea drinkers to expand on their knowledge and appreciation.

Women & CoWorking is not your normal networking event! Speakers will broadly discuss a topic in their area of expertise from 5:30-6pm and then we open the floor for honest dialogue. This is your chance to meet others who face similar challenges and successes, and to connect with experts who can provide support.
You do not want to miss Dr. Amy Elliott! This month, we will discuss what is like to be a female leader in a male dominated field. Dr. Elliott takes her passion for science and engineering beyond her professional role as a scientist, engaging with broad audiences through media, education, and outreach. She debuted on the Discovery Channel's The Big Brain Theory in 2013, placing 2nd in a competition showcasing real-world applications of science to 749,000 viewers. She later served as a technical expert on the Science Channel's Outrageous Acts of Science, appearing in 86 episodes over seven seasons, reaching millions nationally and globally. Dr. Elliott also gave a TEDx Talk, "Refostering Innovation in America," sharing her insights on innovation and STEM.
As an AAAS IF/THEN Ambassador, she was 3D scanned into a life-sized statue displayed at the Smithsonian, the only ambassador scanned while pregnant-celebrating both intellectual achievement and motherhood. Through the program, she inspired over one million girls and authored Amelia Gearheart: Where Does Electricity Come From?, a children's book promoting STEM careers. The book highlights diverse role models and educates both children and parents on energy technologies and career opportunities. Her YouTube series, Amelia Gearheart, uses fun, colorful STEM activities to engage families and inspire career exploration.

Women & CoWorking is a space for entrepreneurs who want real conversations, practical resources, and the chance to ask the tough questions. Music has been used to heal body and soul since ancient times. Studies have shown healing on a cellular level after short exposure to certain frequencies. Please join us for an exploration into the use of sound. This will include a short sound bath and an instrument show and tell.

Melissa is a compassionate healer with over 35 years of experience. She combines her passion for CranioSacral Therapy(CST) with her background as an Occupational Therapist to facilitate healing for newborns to end of life care.

Feeling intimidated by watercolor? Join this laidback workshop exploring the basics—how much water to add to your paint, how to control its spread across the page, and how to mix up colors for a cozy 5”x 7” mug painting at the end. (You might be surprised at how few colors it takes!)
This workshop is designed to give you a fun evening out, and skip the pressure of buying expensive supplies before you even know where to start.
Along with your mini painting, you’ll take home a resource list with some of my beginner-friendly product recommendations. That way, you only buy supplies you’ll actually use—and keep practice simpler for yourself.

Ceramics: Quilted Bowls with Happy House Eclectic
This beginner friendly program will walk participants through using clay slabs to hand build their own food-safe pottery bowl. Everyone will have the opportunity to embrace creative freedom and add personality through texture rollers, carving, or sculpting onto their pieces- bring your inspo pictures and ideas! Learn tips & tricks from practicing artists, and create something of your own! We will be using a unique 'quilting' technique- it's foolproof! Finished pieces will be individual-sized, like a soup bowl- would be the perfect start to your own dish ware set! No prior experience needed.
Class is best for ages 10+, children under 18 must be accompanied by a ticketed, participating adult.

Award-winning author and environmental scientist Katatra Vasquez is passionate about revealing the contributions of the historically unknown in American history to connect and inspire. A Dayton, Ohio native and Tuskegee University graduate, she spent over 20 years safeguarding America’s historic spaces and has been recognized by both the Tennessee Historical Commission and the U.S. Department of Energy. Through her children’s books and heritage education work, Katatra blends history, STEM, and storytelling to spark imagination, connect, and inspire.
